My ongoing passion for this fascinating medium of glass has continued over the past four decades; from the seventies glass blowing hot shop in Portland State University, next in the eighties Aden & Hanes stained glass in Multnomah Village, Portland Oregon, then jadenglassworks in Salem, Oregon and now River View Glass in Brownville, Nebraska.
The ability to change the state of this wonderful material from a solid to a liquid and one again back to a solid, not only has unlimited possibilities but continues to push my creative energy. My artwork centers on the relationship between shapes and form. Borosilicate glass before the mid-80's was mostly available in clear, very few colors, then with the development of colored rods and tubing a new esthetic became available for the studio.
My current body of work encompasses casting, fusing, cold working, slumping, and flame working. All these.skill sets can be seen in the never compromising highest level of craftsmanship that professionals seek for their work. I have the goal to create well-designed pieces of art glass for the public, that will become heirloom items for future generations to enjoy and share with their loved ones.
