Gallery Membership
Northland Artists' Gallery is a member-owned and operated cooperative of artists from the greater Kansas City and surrounding areas. We take pride in the diversity and talent of our members. Artists are encouraged to join us in the experience of working and interacting with other artists from this area. Prospective members are selected by a jury process, and if approved, will be accepted into membership as space is available in the Gallery.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Artists must have been approved for membership by the membership jury. ( Please note that acceptance into the Gallery after being approved is contingent upon space availability. Waiting lists are maintained.)
Artists accepted for membership must sign a 12-month contract.
Member dues are currently $50 a month, paid quarterly ($150). New member's dues will be prorated.
Members are required to work at the Gallery a minimum of two - 3 1/2-hour shifts per month; and more during busy months, or when membership determines a need. Therefore, it is essential that members live within easy driving distance from Weston.
All members are expected to serve on at least one Gallery committee. Because this is an artist-operated gallery, active participation by each artist is essential.
Members are encouraged to attend the monthly Gallery meetings.
Members are expected to abide by the Gallery bylaws and the decisions of the floor committee regarding the exhibition of all work.
The Gallery receives a 15% commission on all sales, including those generated directly from Gallery exhibitions.
